Kirchheim unter Teck

Location

Kirchheim unter Teck is located at the basement of the "swabian mountain" and was mentioned the first time in history 1000 years ago. The city is very famous because of its medieval houses and the city wall. Parts of Kirchheim are "Ötlingen", "Jesingen" and "Nabern". The infrstructural environment is very good, because the A8 is passing by.

Now I am going to tell you something about bars and restaurants here in Kirchheim. There are some very nice places to go.

Cafe Extrablatt

The "Extrablatt" is for us (the Kellerfreunde) in the meanwhile like our living room, this is probably because we are going there now for about 6 years. The atmosphere is very nice and beside the possibility to sit inside there are some places to sit outside. That is convenient during summer time, because it is getting warm inside.
The owner changed in October and so it is closed right now due to renovation work. But we all hope it will re-open soon.

Hemmingways

Who is looking for a modern bar and good cocktails will love the Hemmingways in the city center of Kirchheim. In 2003 the Hemmingways opend the doors for the audiance. The furniture is very modern but it is very nice. This bar is located on 2 floors, so it has plenty of room.
The menu for the cocktails enfolded more than 50 pages of all different kinds of cocktails. There are classics like "Tequille Sunrise" as well as popular drinks like "Long Island Ice Tea". The prices are relativly high for Kirchheim.

Touch

The "Touch" accrued out of the "Cafe Klatsch" a few years ago. The furniture is american style and also the food is like in an american restaurant. So they will serve Hamburges, Steaks and Coutry Potatoes. The taste is pretty good.
On weekends it is pretty difficult to find a place in the Touch due to many people. But if you are going there on time or later it is normally no problem to get a place. The prices are hunky-dory. If you like to drink a Cocktail there you have to watch out a little bit. The reason is that sometimes the cocktails don't taste well, and the mixing ratio is not correct.

Der Bären

In the summer time there is no better place for a "shandy" (Beer and Lemonande) than the "Bären". "Der Bären" means the bear in English. The bar is located directly vis-à-vis of the city hall. The shandy is one of the best in the city. There is also the possibiity to sit outside on one of the 40 ale-benches. That is the reason why the "Bären" is ideal for a drink or to eat something after the shopping.
On December 24th it is a good place to have a breakfast, because there are a lot of people and there are a lot of people we know.
